Projectile weapons in Dawn of Sorrow have fixed attack power; they do the same damage whether your strength is 1 or 999.
Menace has 3,000 HP per head and three heads. This is how much each weapon does per hit:
Handgun: 8
Silver Gun: 22
Boomerang: 1
Chakram: 5
Tomahawk: 13
Throwing Sickle: 22
RPG: 89
Except for the boomerang, none of these weapons deal mere scratch damage.
The regular handgun deserves special attention: it’s explicitly stated to be chambered for 9mm Parabellum in Aria of Sorrow. Let that sink in: a type of relatively weak ammo can destroy one of Menace’s heads in 375 hits and kill it in 1,125. That’s just out of a pistol; no doubt it would do more damage if fired from a carbine. And that’s before getting into the hundreds of cartridges more powerful than the 9mmP.
